Stephen Balazs2024-10-28 A lively, informative, friendly guide showing you all the delights of Aix, what more could one ask for. Janice was knowledgeable, insightful, and made us feel like we were her visiting friends, eager to see and taste the best of Aix. Merci bien! D Bisson2024-10-08 Erin was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable on all things Aix! She had treats for us at every turn of the tour. It was enjoyable to see her interact with the purveyors during our time together. My wife and I would highly recommend Erin. On a side note, the day started with a “storm of the year” so we weren’t sure we would go ahead with the tour. Thankfully, the weather changed and Erin was very flexible to meet us at a later hour. Candace Basich2024-10-02 What a wonderful experience! We had a tour with Jennifer. She had an obvious love of Aix food and history and made a memorable experience for us all (kiddos 6&9 gave her rave reviews as well). Highly recommend. Linda P2024-09-26 Last week, at the recommendation of Rick Steves, four of us we met the delightful and knowledgeable Janicke for a stroll around Aix to some of her favorite local food, patisserie, cheese, and wine purveyors. You will not be disappointed; there are small tastes of the very best in Aix and you will get an informed perspective of the history and importance of this beautiful and friendly city. This is a five star tour. Oh, we went back to every vendor/producer for more of the best. Thank you, Janicke. K, L, J, C. Oregon and Idaho Jc Frejya2024-09-07 Just one piece of advice, come hungry and forget about your diet Fred Roberson2024-08-07 We did the Tastes of Provence tour with Janicke in AIX following our river cruise down the Rhone. She was wonderful, taking us to her favorite places for everything from pastries to wine to cheese and bread, chocolates, etc. and in spite of a cold steady rain that afternoon, we had a great time and learned a lot about AIX from this knowledgeable, outgoing lady. We highly recommend her and this tour. Did I mention she can also steer you to wonderful local restaurants? Camille Res2024-06-24 This tour was an absolute highlight of our stay in Aix! HIGHLY recommend! We were a family of 5 - including a 16 year old son - and we all loved this experience! Janicke was a delight! Her energy and love for food and Aix is contagious! We especially appreciated all the historical knowledge and tid bits she shared and we wandered from one tasty food stop to the next. Her English was perfect. THANK YOU Tastes of Provence and Janicke! We will be back! Beth Gilbert2024-06-19 The tour was great and I was completely stuffed by the end. I was sorry that I had eaten breakfast before because there were so many wonderful things to sample. Our guide was wonderful and very enthusiastic to be around.! It was a wonderful morning to spend as a family learning about the area thank you so much for a wonderful tour alexandra gilbert2024-06-10 Yonica was an amazing guide, she had a great energy about her and was happy to answer any of our questions. Wade W2022-06-29 Food Market Tour What a wonderful experience. Mathilde was so knowledgeable. It was cool to see the shops and merchants she uses for her cooking school. She was great about pacing things to fit our large group of ten. The food sampling was fabulous and it was great to hear the story behind the food. My only suggestion is skip or plan a light lunch after because you will be full. Nancy J2021-09-28 Fun and informative tour of the Aix en Provence market We had a wonderful tour of the Aix en Provence market with Mathilde. She was fun and knowledgeable and we had tastes of some great local food, along with interesting information about the area. She gave us some tips on finding true local produce and merchandise at the market, which we used while shopping in the days that followed. This was our fourth time to Aix en Provence, but Mathilde really added depth to our knowledge of the area. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to be in the area. yanbing T2019-09-11 Best tour in Provence Our guide is amazing, my experience is beyond my Expectation, she is very warm, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We not only tasted the best food in provence , given all the insight of the city with interesting stories, I highly recommend to every one visit Aix-end-Provence.Esther TriGary2019-08-14 Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and delicious treats. Jennifer took us around some of the old town of Aix and explained some of the history which was very interesting and insightful, especially when it involves food! It is interesting hearing some of the food etiquette that the French follow in contrast to the British. She is passionate about the food produced in the area and has a very good relationship with the producers you meet. You get to taste the seasonal produce as well as some of the local delicacies. Highly recommended! Tourist5011122019-08-12 The highlight of our trip to Provence If you like history and food then this is a fantastic tour! We were so bowled over the knowledge and passion of Jennifer and she was also a personable and fun guide. Ending the morning with some delicious cheese and wine was fantastic. Highly recommended. mkx22019-08-11 Great tour Great tour with our guide Matilda. It was a wonderful way to get oriented to this special city. We had many opportunities to taste a variety of foods. Each tasting was accompanied by fantastic descriptions from our guide. She knew many of the local vendors which was really nice. We also had a delicious wine tasting. Matilda knew so much history, even the date that the Rotunda fountain was built!! Kristian W2019-07-26 Aix de Food market of heaven We had an amazing time with Jennifer. A lot of fresh fruits and products. Jennifer relationship with the sellers where amazing and we got a lot of tree samples that not was a part of the tour itself. Top tour Sarita1502019-07-20 Just fabulous! Loved everything about the 3 hour tour myself and a friend did on 19 July. It was great getting to know a bit about the history of Aix. The food sampling was fabulous and we now know what makes the difference between a white and green asparagus and black and green olives!! Would highly recommend this as a great introduction (and orientation) of Aix. Suzanne A2019-07-20 Lovely morning We had a great time with Matilda- she was friendly, knowledgeable and our 3 hours flew past. It’s a fantastic way to get to know a city in a short time frame and to learn about the history, people and food. Highly recommend! Zachary2019-07-11 A True "Taste" of Provence in Aix My family joined Janicke on this tour covering the history of Aix en Provence and sampling the local flavors at the markets and various food shops. This was a hit with everyone in the family and Janicke did an excellent job detailing the histories behind places we saw and also incorporating the food that we sampled into the narrative. This was also a great way to find amazing food to bring back home from Provence. Really excellent.
